Updated Matrix provides details of airports and ports spending

The Brazilian Federal Government´s “Matrix of Responsibilities” defining the roles of and relationships between the country´s three tiers of government in relation to World Cup 2014 preparations has been updated to include both airports and ports.

Signed today, July 19, by Brazilian Sport Minister Orlando Silva Jr and President Lula, the additional section shows the sources of financing and breakdown of responsibilities for the two areas, both key aspects of the country´s Growth Acceleration Program. For airports, the total spending estimate is R$5.5 billion across 13 airports in the 12 host cities, while for the ports the prediction is R$740.7 million across seven locations: Salvador (BA), Recife (PE), Natal (RN), Fortaleza (CE), Manaus (AM), Rio de Janeiro (RJ) and Santos (SP).

The original Matrix of Responsibilities release, signed by all cities, states, and the federal government in January, covered stadia (R$5.4 billion) and urban mobility (R$12.7 billion).
