First 2014 official hospitality agent appointment marks opportunity

Continuing the recent spate of activity in the Brazilian sports marketing sector as a number of international players set up shop in the country, SportsMark has shown the motive for its new São Paulo office upon announcing its appointment as the exclusive US agent for the sale of Official Hospitality Programs for the 2014 Cup.

Importantly, SportsMark´s coup flags the potential for similar opportunities for relevant Australian groups looking to enter the Brazilian market through the sports marketing and hospitality sector, particularly given the wide range of official FIFA requirements.

MATCH Hospitality AG, the exclusive rights holder for FIFA Hospitality Programs, announced the appointment last week, marking the first such arrangement for MATCH for the 2014 tournament.

Jaime Byrom, the executive chairman of MATCH Hospitality, pointed out that SportsMark's expertise and networks within the American market represents the best option for MATCH Hospitality.

The FIFA Hospitality Programme includes match tickets, facilities such as private suites and lounges, gourmet catering, preferential parking, transportation, entertainment and gifts. Accommodation and transportation in Brazil are also included.
