International interest in Brazil continues to grow

Providing yet another clear indication of the growing foreign interest in Brazil ahead of the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Rio Olympics, a trade mission consisting of up to forty companies from Ireland is being organised for November, around the same time as a similar mission currently being planned in Australia.

Ireland´s Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation, Batt O’Keeffe, will lead the mission, which will be focused on developing deals with Brazilian businesses and establishing new trade opportunities in advance of the two mega-events. Ireland currently has annual exports to Brazil of around €213 million spread amongst 100 businesses.

Upon announcing the mission, O’Keeffe stated ‘‘we must pull out all the stops to score business opportunities in Brazil."

The four-day trade mission will visit Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
