Rio OC coming together with key positions announced

Two important appointments at the Rio 2016 Organising Committee have been made over the past week, with both the communication and human resources directors finalised.

Carlos Villanova has been appointed communications director bringing with him strong international experience gained as the press officer of the Brazilian embassy in Washington for 14 years. Villanova also dealt with international media as the former Press Assistant Secretary of the Presidency of the Republic.

Engineer Henrique Gonzalez Garcia Filho is the new human resources director and sports a solid background working for Shell for 19 years as Brazil and Latin America Human Resources Director. His latest experience was with automotive services as the Human Resources Director of DPaschoal. The Human Resources Department will manage, by 2016, about four thousand employees as well as additional contractors.
